This unique deck restoration project began after an old, sunken spa was removed, leaving a large recessed opening in the existing Trex deck. Our goal was to create a strong, level surface that would safely support the homeowner’s new spa while blending seamlessly with the surrounding deck.
After removing the old spa, the area was carefully leveled and a new structural support system was built. Concrete-set pier blocks were installed to create a solid foundation, and heavy-duty 4×6 beams were added and securely tied into the existing rim joists for additional strength and long-term stability.
The deck surface was rebuilt using durable Trex composite decking in a dark gray finish. Although the existing deck had naturally faded over time, the homeowners selected the original Trex color because the new spa will cover most of the repaired section. The decking boards were installed in a staggered pattern to increase structural integrity while minimizing visible seams for a clean, professional appearance.
From demolition to completion, the project was finished in just a few days, providing the homeowners with a structurally sound deck that is ready to support their new spa for years to come.
